Boys & Girls Club
Families with children who have turned 6 years have the opportunity to utilize The Boys & Girls Club
("The Club") for their aftercare program. Families are required to register for the Club for the current academic year (fee and Club membership form
found here). This program is available for children in grades K-8, with the youngest children being 6 years old. TPS students participate in the Club location across 3rd Street Park, known as their Lincoln Park campus. TPS staff monitor Club kids as safely they walk to the Club each afternoon.

Families with girls 5 and older have the opportunity to utilize Girls Inc. of Monroe County
. for after care programming. The Girls Inc. bus picks up at TPS at the conclusion of each school day, and transports girls to their center for programming at 1108 West 8th Street. Annual membership fee and form is also required. Click their website above, or call 812.336.7131 for more information.
TPS provides aftercare for students who have not yet turned 6, and therefore are not eligible to attend The Club. Registration information is shared directly with our Kindergarten families regarding this opportunity, and families must have preregistered by the expressed deadline at the beginning of the academic year. For questions regarding TPS aftercare for 5 year olds, please contact the school office.
During periods of time when the Boys & Girls Club and Girls Inc. do not offer programming, TPS sometimes offers in-house aftercare programming with a limited number of available spaces. This program operates from 3:30 - 5:30p, and is staffed by TPS Instructional Assistants. Information is shared with families regarding when this limited programming is offered; sign up and advanced payment (or the establishment of a payment plan) is required.

A Note About Late After-School Pick Up from TPS
If a child is not picked up within a reasonable amount of time following their designated pick up time (after school, or the close of aftercare if they are staying for aftercare), they will remain in the front office, and the family will be charged the rate that TPS must pay for the staffing expenses associated with this time. If you are going to be late due to emergency, etc., please contact the school office asap via telephone (812.558.0041) to let us know of your situation, and your estimated arrival time.
