school break care
The Project School calendar is closer to what is considered a "balanced calendar," with longer breaks taking place throughout the academic year, and a slightly shorter summer break happening each year. Although the calendar does change slightly each year, we typically have the following pattern of breaks:2 weeks of fall break between late September and mid October1 week of Thanksgiving break during the month of November2-3 weeks of winter break between late December and early January2 weeks of spring break during the month of March7-8 weeks summer break between mid June and mid AugustDuring the academic year, when TPS is on break but Monroe County Community School Corporation is in session, TPS works to offer School Break Care. This is a fee-based "camp" type program, with daily activities, field trips, and learning in a well-supervised environment. Meals are not provided during School Break Care.Costs for Break Care 2016-2017Full Pay Lunch Students $28/dayReduced Lunch Students $14/day *Free Lunch Students $7/day *Billing for school break care is done prior to the care being provided. Payment is expected by the specified deadline for each session of Care (the deadlines will always be posted along with the registration information), and can be paid by check, cash, or credit/debit card.Keeping credit card information on file in the office is the easiest way to keep up to date on billing. Invoices are then emailed to families with the date when cards will be charged -- families are always told the amount to be applied before running a card. We keep all information locked in a secure location and only the Administrative Assistant processes the cards to maintain security. If you would like to keep a credit card number securely on file for ease of payments (for meals, after care, Enrichment and break care), please email Ms. Kristin, or see her at the front desk.* Please note -- Free & Reduced Meal Eligibility Also Means Reduced Break Care Fees!Families in need of free or reduced meal fees must complete and submit an application. Families who believe they may qualify for this benefit are encouraged to apply even if they intend to pack their lunches, as there are additional benefits (such as waiving of school supply fees, and reduced after care/Enrichment/school break care fees) that are also granted through this eligibility.
