bloomington walking tour

The 2026 TPS Middle School undertook a year-long P3 project studying the places and stories that make our community special. They then developed a walking tour of FIFTY SEVEN locations in the greater downtown that each represent a unique slice of our history. Their efforts included not only historical research, but also source citation, design, professional communications, public speaking, writing, and a deep dive into the 2026 Compelling & Generative Topic: Interdependence. Our students used their hearts, minds, and voices to learn about and celebrate Bloomington, and to teach the whole of the community what makes us unique and important. Their work will impact our community for years to come.

Each of the 57 stops on the tour now has a permanent sign hanging in the window, with QR code, so that visitors can experience their own piece of the Bloomington Walking Tour (and hopefully be inspired to then find more, like a treasure hunt!). We are so deeply grateful to all of the B'ton businesses and organizations who supported this project by engaging with our students, answering their questions, and agreeing to host one of their walking tour signs.

Click the link below to make your way to the Walking Tour website, where you can then check out ALL of the sites, as well as the businesses and organization that participated. We hope that you will begin to explore our community in a whole new light, and that you will thank these community locations for their participation.
