We strongly encourage any families who believe they qualify to submit the application once it becomes available. Participation in the program not only provides reduced or free meals for qualifying families; it also eliminates costs to families such as annual school fees for materials and supplies, and reduces any fees for extracurricular programs offered by or through TPS. And having accurate information as a school about the number of qualifying families also creates opportunities for us to apply for data-based grants, which have a positive impact on the entire school community.

2023-2024 Backpack Buddies
TPS partners with Community Kitchen, a wonderful local nonprofit that supports individuals and families who experience food insecurity. One of their programs is Backpack Buddies. These are bags delivered weekly to schools, in order to distribute to families on Fridays. The bags include food items (fresh and non-perishable) to supplement a family's weekend meals. Any TPS family who feels this would be helpful for them to overcome food insecurity is welcome to sign up to participate.
